How many garments do I have to purchase?

There are no minimums here at AKT!

For orders under 36 units, we offer state-of-the-art direct-to-garment printing. All orders over 36 units will be traditionally screen printed.

Can I get a sample before I order?

Absolutely! For a small fee, we do offer samples of our products and printing if you’d like to see them prior to printing you full order.

If you are pleased with your sample and choose to place an order with AKT, the full sample fee will be credited to your future order.

Can I pick up my order from your location?

Sure! You can stop by our main headquarters and pick up your order very easily. Remember to always call (877-306-3651) first to set up a pick-up time.

Do you ship internationally?

Of course! Many of our clients are from outside of the U.S. and still choose to use AKT for their printing needs. With years of international expertise, we can assist with the most affordable international shipping options out there.

What type of artwork do I need to provide?

Please provide all artwork at 300 DPI, or a vectorized art file. Art should be sized to print within our maximum dimensions (14.5"x19").

File types we prefer include: .PSD, .AI, .PDF, .EPS, .TIFF.

Can I provide my own garments?

No problem. If you are supplying your own garments, simply let the sales representative you are working with know. A discount for the garments being provided will apply to your order.

NOTE: If you are providing garments, AKT will only refund 25% of the cost of that item if it is accidentally damaged during production. A receipt from the original purchase is required to issue a partial refund.

What are your turn-around times?

As a general rule, we say 10-12 business days. This does not include the transit time to final destination. Some special orders may take longer.

Do you offer “rush” production?

Absolutely! We will work around the clock to make sure you have your order when it is due. We understand that sometimes quick turn arounds are necessary and we have dedicated a special part of our production to accommodate rush orders.

Can I change my order after payment?

We will do our best to accommodate adjustments made after payment but we move quickly and could have already processed your order. Once your order has been processed, we will not be able to modify order details.

What are your hours of operation?

Do you ship to P.O. Boxes?

No, our standard method of shipping does not allow for us to ship directly to P.O. boxes.

Do I need to pay for my order now?

You will be expected to pay for your order at the time your order is processed. AKT accepts all major credit cards, checks, money orders, cash and PayPal.

I am missing a few items from my order, why did that happen?

AKT orders are subject to a 5% under run due to possible burns or other inconsistencies in the print and a possible 5% over run for orders that we may add additional shirts then you requested to make up for any mistakes. If you are providing your own shirts to be printed, please keep this policy in mind.

SPOILAGE: AKT will not be responsible for spoilage up to 2% for orders over 144 units or 5% for orders less than 144 units on contracted goods. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND ordering more garments than needed for each size.

OVER THE ZIPPER PRINTS: Because of the different variables of over the zipper prints, refunds can not be issued for this service. If you are worried about your design having issues, it is best to print on a pullover.

Screen Printing

What is screen-printing?

Screen printing is a printing technique that uses a woven mesh to support an ink-blocking stencil. The attached stencil forms open areas of mesh that transfer ink or other printable materials, which can be pressed through the mesh as a sharp-edged image onto a substrate. A roller or squeegee is moved across the screen stencil, forcing or pumping ink past the threads of the woven mesh in the open areas.

Is there a minimum amount on screen-printed order?

There are no minimums here at AKT!

What is the maximum amount of colors you can print?

The maximum colors that we can currently print is 8.

Can you print discharge / water based inks?

Absolutely! Additional fees may apply.

What are screens? How much is the screen fee?

Each color in a design needs to have a screen that goes with it. We charge a $20 one time screen fee per color printed.

Can I print on a garment that is not listed on the site?

Of course! Let us know what you are looking for and we will do our best to find them. You can also provide your own garments if you choose to.

What shirts have the easiest to remove tag?

The majority of the time, the fashion forward brands are the best options to remove the tag from.

Do you screen print tags on the inside of the shirt?

Yes, we do print tags to the inside of t-shirts.

Can you bag individual shirts?

Of course! We provide this service as an additional charge.

Digital Printing

What is digital printing?

Direct to Garment (DTG) is a comparatively new textile printing technique that prints an image directly onto a garment or fabric through what is essentially a modified edition of a conventional ink-jet printer.

This type of printing method is best used for small quantity print runs.

Is there a minimum amount on digitally printed order?

No, that is the beauty of it! No order is too small for us to handle.

What type of garment can I use to digitally print my items?

We recommend 100% cotton garments to be used diring the DTG process.

Is there a setup or screen fee for digital printing?

No setup or screen fees!

What is the benefit with digital printing over screen-printing?

Digital printing is an affordable way to print low quantity orders.

For all orders over 24 pieces we will screen print.

Is there a limited on the amount of colors printed digitally?

There are no color restrictions for Direct To Garment printing.

Embroidery

What is embroidery?

Embroidery is a craft with ancient origins, dating back to early cultures across the globe. By using a needle, thread or yarn is sewn on to a base material or fabric to create a pattern. Today, embroidery continues to be a popular craft and is often featured on clothing and decorative housewares.

Is there a minimum amount on embroidered order?

There is no minimum for embroidery.

What is digitizing and how much does it cost?

Digitizing is the process of converting artwork into a stitch file that can be read by an embroidery machine and interpreted as different stitch types.

We charge a flat fee of $50.00 to digitize your file. Bulk discounted rates are available upon request.

How long does it take to get my file digitized?

We are quick! We usually have your file digitized in less than 24 hours.

What file type should I send in?

File types we prefer include: .PSD, .AI, .PDF, .EPS, .TIFF.

Is there a limit on the colors used when embroidering an item?

There is no set limit, but we typically recommend keeping your file simple as detailed on embroidery differs very much from screen printed items.
